Rev. Kevin Hay, Pastor

Rev. Kevin Hay became Middletown Presbyterian Church’s first full-time installed Pastor in September of 2019.  Kevin has a passion for preaching, outreach to the community, young adults, creative worship, fellowship, teaching and church administration.

Kevin is a “recovering preacher’s kid” who grew up mostly in Marietta, GA (outside of Atlanta) and Birmingham, AL.  Kevin graduated from Rhodes College in Memphis, TN in 2003 with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration and Religious Studies. After spending a couple of years in the banking industry, Kevin followed the calling to ministry by attending Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur, GA where he received a Master’s of Divinity in 2008. Kevin also received a Certificate in Executive Leadership from McCormick Theological Seminary in 2011.

Kevin was ordained to the Ministry of Word and Sacrament (Teaching Elder) in the Presbyterian Church USA on August 24, 2008. Prior to joining us, Kevin served in ministry as a Campus Minister in Wilmington, NC; Associate Pastor in Winchester, VA; and Transitional (Interim Pastor) in Romney, WV.  Kevin also completed the Top of Virginia Community Leadership Program in 2019 which allowed him to gain new insight and connections throughout Frederick County.

Kevin and his wife Julie Carper Hay welcomed their daughter, Addison, into the world just as he joined us in ministry in September of 2019.  Julie was born and raised in Winchester/Frederick County where she attended Sherando High School and Bridgewater College. Julie works as a CPA with Yount, Hyde, and Barbour (YHB) in Winchester. Kevin loves spending time with his family, live music, traveling, cooking, and Auburn football (War Eagle!).
